Appearing on the occasion of Tsuyoshi Hisakado’s first major solo exhibition, this publication documents the newly commissioned installations the artist conceived for the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, which respond to the museum’s distinctive interior. Hisakado collects everyday phenomena, the memories of particular locations and history, harnessing these elements as fragments of sound, light, and sculptural forms in order to create spaces that quietly yet powerfully affect the physical senses of the viewer. The work encourages us to refine our perceptions and poses metaphorical questions about concepts of eternity and the uniqueness latent in physical objects.
